New Year’s Eve Events Cancelled In Banff

Unfortunately, it looks like COVID-19 and record-breaking cold temperatures have teamed up to put the kibosh on New Year’s events sponsored by the town of Banff this year.

Banff and Lake Louise have combined to reach 131 active cases and rising as of December 29th, 2 weeks ago the National Park had recorded zero active cases.

Extreme cold is also in the forecast once again for New Year’s Eve with the high predicted to be below minus 20 and lows projected to reach the mid minus 30’s once again.

These 2 factors have combined to create a potentially unsafe situation for everyone involved in the celebrations and lead to the Town of Banff canceling all of their indoor and outdoor sponsored New Year’s Eve events out of an abundance of caution. Stay safe everybody.
