Our friend Taylor over at the Holistic Backpacker has compiled a great list of 12 easy hikes close to town. These out and back hikes range in duration from 1 to about 4.5 hours and most are accessible year-round by walking or public transit from downtown Banff.

Most of these hikes can be completed in the winter as well as the summer so there’s no need to wait to get out there hiking. Some of the hikes detailed in this article include Tunnel Mountain summit, Hoodoos trail, Sundance Canyon, and my favorite the Upper Stoney Lookout trail. Personally, I’ve done all of these hikes and although they are considered easy I find them all to be very worthwhile and rewarding.

12 Easy Hikes In Banff – The Holistic Backpacker

Banff National Park is home to incredible mountains, intense scrambles, backcountry camping trails, and some wild day-hikes. Even though everyone itches to climb Banff’s biggest, baddest mountains there are lots of easy hikes in Banff that are equally as scenic and enjoyable. The following hikes are all accessible from town and require no driving.
